Dr Acar provides medical direction of Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Services within dedicated Rehabilitation Hospitals. This role includes the subacute medical care of these conditions. Quite often this requires close liaison between the referring doctor/specialist and Dr Acar to ensure optimum medical care and continuity of care.
This service is provided within a multidisciplinary inpatient or multidisciplinary/outpatient program setting.
Presently, he is able to consult through the Specialist Medical Consulting Rooms of Mt Wilga Private Hospital.
The conditions commonly managed by Dr Acar include, and is not restricted to:
- Neurological Rehabilitation (e.g. stroke, post neurosurgery)
- Orthopoedic Rehabilitation (e.g. after joint replacement surgery for knees, hips, shoulders, and fractures, joint fusion surgery, and common spinal surgeries).
- Musculoskeletal rehabilitation for conditions not requiring surgery, such as sprains, strains, minor/moderate injury, osteoporosis and crush fractures/pelvic fractures.
- Conservative management of Spinal Pain (back, neck)
- Injury rehabilitation, such as work injuries, or other accidents. These include multitrauma situations.
- Chronic Pain Syndromes.
- Cardiac and Respiratory Rehabilitation..
- Rehabilitation of people, often the aged, after physical deterioration (deconditioning due to immobilisation and inactivity) due to any medical or surgical illness.
- An amputee rehabilitation service at Mt Wilga Private Hospital is available where he conducts Amputee Clinics. The team includes the attendance of a visiting prosthetist. Below knee (trans-tibial), and above knee (transfemoral) are the most common categories of amputees treated.

For situations where an opinion about rehabilitation is required rather than treatment, Dr Acar is able to perform one off consultations and assess such patients through the Specialist Medical Consulting Rooms of Mt WIilga Private Hospital.
Dr Acar is also able to consult patients at the following acute private hospitals for the purpose of providing an opinion about the suitability of a person for rehabilitation services: He is able to visit other private hospitals on an ad hoc basis (subject to visiting privileges and other variables).
